Thanksgiving Isn’t a Day. It’s a Doorway.

Thanksgiving, Every Day

This week, millions of American's will gather around tables, pull up extra chairs, pass plates, and pause long enough to name what they’re grateful for.

That’s the premise behind Thanksgiving:
We come together to remember what matters.
We celebrate what’s good.
We honor what we’ve been given—family, friendships, provision, health, lessons, laughter, and the quiet miracles that carried us here.

And there is something deeply beautiful about that.

But I want to offer you a gentle reminder today:

Gratitude was never meant to be seasonal.
It was meant to be a way of being.

Gratitude Is a Frequency

When you practice gratitude, you’re not just being “positive.”
You’re tuning your nervous system and your awareness to a higher truth.

It’s one of the fastest ways to reconnect to the divinity of who you are, because gratitude does something powerful:

It brings you into the present.
And the present is where God lives.
The present is where your power lives.
The present is where life is actually happening.

Most suffering comes from living in one of two places:

  • The past (regret, shame, resentment, “what if”)
  • The future (worry, fear, control, “what if”)

Gratitude pulls you out of both.
It anchors you here.

You Can’t Hold Gratitude and Lack at the Same Time

Here’s what I’ve learned in my own life:

When you are truly grateful in a moment, something else dissolves.
You can’t fully sink into gratitude while also rehearsing hatred.
You can’t feel sincere thankfulness and simultaneously remain in envy.
You can’t praise what is and at the same time obsess over what isn’t.

Gratitude doesn’t deny reality.
It reorders it.

It shifts your focus from what’s missing to what’s meaningful.
From what’s broken to what’s blessable.
From what you fear losing to what you’re honored to have.

And what you focus on grows.
Always.

A Thanksgiving Practice For This Week

As you head toward Thanksgiving, I want to challenge you:

Don’t wait for one day a year to remember what’s sacred.

Practice gratitude every day, in every way.
Not because life is perfect.
But because gratitude makes you powerful enough to shape what’s next.

Even in hard seasons, there is always something to honor:
A breath.
A lesson.
A friend.
A door that closed so something better could open.
Your own resilience.
The fact that you’re still here.

That’s not small.
That’s holy.

With love & light,
Rudi
